The Procedure

Orthognathic surgery is a facial reconstructive procedure aimed at correcting bite alignment, improving facial aesthetics and breathing, supporting gum and bone health, and ensuring proper temporomandibular joint function.

Surgery is recommended for patients with significant jaw and bite misalignments that orthodontic appliances alone cannot resolve. During the procedure, the surgeon repositions the jawbones and/or upper jaw to correct irregularities affecting bite, speech, chewing, and breathing.
